HIGH-LEVEL IDEALS AND EXPECTATIONS- Always strive to do the right thing
- Always respect the design of the game
- When in doubt, trust that your guildmates will also do the right thing
- Never belittle or insult other players (even Horde players)
- Remember that your actions always reflect upon the guild
- Help guildmates improve their understanding of the game whenever possible
- Keep guild chat free of arguments and name-calling
SPECIFIC BEHAVIOR GUIDELINES1. GUILD CHAT ABUSE
Do not abuse guild chat. It should not be used to resolve disputes (see the Disputes section for details). Guild chat is primarily for discussing in-game activities that are of interest to all guild members. While we want a friendly atmosphere in our guild, please do not fill up guild chat with tons of non-game-related information. Leetspeak and profanity are not appropriate for guild chat.
2. RESPECT OFFICER DECISIONS
If an officer specifically asks you to do something (or to stop doing something), you must comply immediately even if you disagree. Later, you can privately ask the officer for clarification. See the Disputes section for details.
3. RESPECT FOR RAID LEADER DECISIONS
If the raid leader of a guild raid specifically asks you to do something (or to stop doing something), you must comply immediately even if you disagree. Later, you can privately ask the raid leader for clarification. See the Disputes section for details. Excessive arguing with a raid leader during a raid will result in lowered priority for future raids.
4. CONFLICT RESOLUTION
If a difference arises between guild members, they should initially try to resolve it themselves. If they are not able to do so, the dispute should be taken to any Captain, Officer or Guild Leader, who will refer the issue to an appointed Mediator. After gathering information (everything that passes to leadership from the parties involved or from other sources will be taken into consideration), the parties will be contacted. A discussion between the affected parties in the presence of the Mediator will be set up in a chat channel or on Ventrilo. Every attempt will be made to find a reasonable resolution.
5. BEGGING FOR MONEY OR ITEMS
We do not tolerate begging for money or items in Guild Chat. There are many ways that mature players can aquire money in the game. If you need ideas, privately ask someone who has the same professions as you. We have kicked people from the guild for begging in the past.
6. BEGGING FOR INSTANCE RUNS / QUEST HELP
While asking once or twice for help with an instance run or a quest is fine,
repeatedly begging for people to run an instance with you in guild chat is not. If you need ideas for how to find people to group with, privately ask a higher level guild member for suggestions.
7. LETTING OTHERS LEVEL YOUR CHARACTERS
We are building a guild of experienced, knowledgeable players that can rely on each other at all times. Players that have not played their character all the way through the game (due to eBay purchases, leveling services, friends, etc.) do not have the complete set of knowledge that we are looking for and will be removed from the guild.
8. LETTING OTHERS PLAY YOUR CHARACTERS
Do not share your WoW account password (or website account password) with anyone. We admit
people into our guild and do not want non-members to have access to our guild resources. Sharing your password with others is a huge security risk as well. Note: If you wish to give/sell your character to another person, you must leave the guild first (and tell an officer what you are doing).
9. "BOTTING" YOUR CHARACTER
Any member who is found to be using a "bot" (i.e., an automated program that allows you to do things like farm or remain active in a battleground to earn honor) will be summarily kicked from the guild.
10. LYING
Any member who lies - on their guild application, on a raid sign-up sheet, to a raid leader during a raid, etc. - will be disciplined and/or removed from the guild.
11. SELLING "GUILD ACQUIRED" ITEMS
Bind-on-Equip items that the guild has worked hard to acquire for a member should not be sold or traded without officer approval. This includes any item awarded during a guild progression raid or any item recieved from the guild bank. (This does not apply to soulbound items that are out-dated - they can be vendored whenever necessary.)
12. GQUITTING
Members who /gquit without discussing their concerns with an officer first will not be allowed back into the guild for at least 48 hours. Anyone who /gquits more than once will not be allowed back in unless the guild leadership votes unanimously to do so.
13. HARASSING OTHER PLAYERS
Within the limits of the game, guild members must be respectful to all players regardless of faction. Please refrain from insulting others, yelling in general chat channels, badgering people for buffs or duels, /spitting at people, or any other action that would embarrass the guild if it was screenshotted and posted somewhere. Note: Role-Playing is NOT a good reason for insulting others publicly. If you need to use insults when role-playing, do it in private whispers.
14. PROFANE LANGUAGE
Remember that some people play with their families nearby. Please refrain from unnecessary profanity when chatting, posting on the website and over Ventrilo. Occasionally expletives are fine; however, repeated, unnecessary vulgarity will not be tolerated. This includes any language that is meant to make another person feel uncomfortable.
15. OFFICIAL RULES
Members must always abide by all posted Blizzard/World of Warcraft rules, policies and codes of conduct.
16. LOOTING VIOLATIONS
Any member who repeatedly violated our policy on looting - regardless of whether they are in a guild-only group or a Pick-Up group - will be disciplined and/or removed from the guild. Everyone needs to thoroughly read and understand the guild policy for Looting. We have kicked people in the past for looting violations.
17. SHOWING UP ON TIME AND PREPARED
Members who sign up for guild raids (especially progression raids) should be ready on time with the correct gear and consumables for the raid. Failure to do so will result in lowered priority for future raids. Repeated violations may result in a raiding ban.
18. NEEDLESS GUILD DRAMA
Members who repeatedly generate unnecessary drama will be removed from the guild. Examples of unnecessary drama include: arguing about non-game-related topics (religion, politics, etc.), or repeatedly complaining about class-specific changes in the latest patch, personal real-life situations, another guild, etc.
19. FORUM ABUSE
Please do not use the forum area on the website to post non-game-related information. Do not post vulgar language or pictures (or links to vulgar pictures) on the forum. Please remember that many people review the forums while at work.
20. REMOVAL DUE TO INACTIVITY
Members who have not logged in within the past month are considered "Inactive" and may be removed from the guild in order to keep the guild list manageable. If you have been removed from the guild due to inactivity and would like to return, simply contact an officer for an invite. There are no penalties for being removed due to inactivity.
